  1. What is Dinez-in?
    Dinez-in brings home chefs and diners together, all in one place. Our platform offers home chefs their own space to share their cooking with diners. At the same time, it helps foodies locate a home chef to whip up a meal.
  2. How do I sign up as a home chef?
    Simple! Just click here here and fill in your particulars. You’ll be on your way to serving home-cooked meals in no time.
  3. What happens before I can start serving meals?
    After you sign up, you are required to go through a verification process. We’ll send tasters to your home to make sure all standards of hygiene, safety, service and taste are met. You will also be required to take a polio injection, if you have not had one in the past three years. All chefs need to pass these tests to be certified Dinez-in home chefs. Do note we’ll be carrying out recurring tests to check for consistency. We aim to ensure the safety and comfort of all our users.
  4. Will my personal particulars be safe?
    Yes. We’re dedicated to safeguarding the privacy of our chefs. Your phone number and address are not visible by the public on your page. These details will only be revealed to a diner after you accept the diner’s request and the diner has made full payment. Additionally, you have the right to reject any diner requests.
  5. What will my hours of operation be like? Will this be a 9-5 job?
    It’s entirely up to you. You can decide whether you want to serve meals all day or only within a certain time frame. You’re the boss!
  6. How will I be paid?
    Diners will pay for their meals online via one of our many payment methods. We will transfer payment to your PayPal or Online Bank (for Malaysia) account the Monday after the event. 15% of the amount goes to Dinez-in as a service fee.
  7. Can a diner pay me in cash?
    We strongly discourage offline transactions, so unfortunately diners cannot pay in cash. If there are any disputes over any event, we want to be able to step in and mediate. However, if the transaction was conducted offline there will be no record of it, and we won’t be able to assist you.
  8. What happens if a diner cancels a booking?
    If a diner cancels more than 48 hours before the dining date, they will be refunded their full payment less any commissions and fees imposed by the payment systems to effect the refund. If they cancel between 24 and 48 hours before the dining date, you will still receive 50% of the payment. However if they cancel less than 24 hours before the dining date, their payment will be forfeited entirely.
  9. Do I have to sign a contract?
    No, you don’t. If we discover a home chef has been conducting offline transactions, these transactions will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

  2. How do I sign up on Dinez-in?
    Simple! Just click here and fill in your particulars. You can then start browsing through our home chefs’ menus to find your meal.
  3. Is it safe to dine at a chef’s home?
    All our home chefs are required to undergo a stringent validation process to make sure their hygiene and safety standards are up to the mark.
  4. How do I find a chef?
    You can browse through our home chefs by filtering them according to their location or neighborhood. However, do note you won’t be able to view their exact address as we keep that information private and confidential until after you have made a reservation and paid for it.
  5. How do I get my food?
    There are three options: you can either dine in at a chef’s home, request for delivery or self pickup.
  6. What happens after I make a booking request?
    The chef will accept or reject your request. Once they accept, make your full payment. Upon receipt of your payment, you’ll receive the chef’s address and contact number.
  7. How do I cancel a booking? What happens to the payment I’ve already made?
    If you cancel your booking more than 48 hours before the dining date, you’ll be refunded your full payment less any commissions and fees imposed by the payment systems to effect the refund. If you cancel it between 24 and 48 hours before the dining date, you will be refunded 50% of the payment. However if you cancel less than 24 hours before the dining date, your payment will be forfeited entirely. Do note that Dinez-in service fees will be deducted from any refunds. Also, if you cancel, your booking is only considered cancelled once you receive confirmation from Dinez-in.
  8. What happens if a chef cancels a booking?
    You’ll receive a full refund, with Dinez-in transaction fees deducted. You will also be given Dinez-in cash vouchers. Plus, our team will link you with another chef in the area so you won’t have to go hungry!
  9. How do I make an order?
    Payment is conducted entirely online. As of now, we only allow PayPal. However, we are working on other payment methods, including credit and debit cards, and internet banking options.
  10. What are the hours of operation like?
    These are entirely up to each home chef. If you need your order at a specific time, we suggest using our search filters while finding your meal to select a chef whose hours suit your schedule.
  11. How do I make an order?
    Head over to our website or open our app (coming soon). You can search and choose for available meals, cooking classes or homemade goodies. Our handy search filters will help you tailor your search to your needs. Once you’ve found what you want, you can proceed to book it.
  12. Can I pay a home chef in cash?
